Where did you go to school?
California State University, Sacramento
What do you do at RMW?
What do you do outside the firm?
I’m always trying to refine my culinary skills. I absolutely love cooking and it gives me another outlet for creativity and experimentation.
Why did you decide to go into architecture/interior design?
Ever since I was a child, I have had an urge to explore perspective. In 1st grade, my class was given the assignment to use markers and paper to create a native American dwelling that we had studied. While most of my classmates used pen and paper to draw a two-dimensional perspective, I picked up my scissors to cut the paper and weave it into a three-dimensional model. My natural curiosity about spatial perspective made Interior Design an obvious career choice.
What is your favorite recent travel experience?
My first visit to Kansas City last year where my husband went to college was a complete surprise. The trip dispelled my pre-conceived notions about the Midwest as I discovered the city’s vibrant creative arts, architecture, and restaurant scene. Kansas City is a place I look forward to visiting again.
