San Francisco Studio
Where did you go to school?
I graduated from Cornell University with a Masters in Architecture focusing on urbanism and city planning, for Undergraduate studies I studied at the University of Auckland.
What do you do at RMW?
I am a Designer and Project Manager, focusing on ground-up science, technology, and commercial projects.
Why did you decide to go into architecture/interior design?
Art and engineering have fascinated me from a young age, thus it is fulfilling to be in a profession that combines both aspects.
Who is your role model and why?
Norman Foster and Alvar Alto are two architects I admire greatly. While Foster is able to eloquently combine various building systems into effective functional environments, Alto was able to create warm inviting spaces using simple natural materials.
What is your favorite building or space?
The Highline in New York stands out: originally a disused railroad spur, it has been converted into an urban public park, elevated above the streets of NYC. It functions as retail, circulation, open space and has been critical in the redevelopment of the neighborhood. The design of the Highline is eloquent, and the project succeeds on multiple levels, this is a result I strive for in my own work.
