Job Description:
With preliminary direction from a licensed architect, assist in all design phases of projects from schematic design to construction administration of multi-family residential, mixed-use, corporate/commercial, corporate interiors, retail, institutional, and bio-tech laboratory buildings, including new construction, renovation and interior tenant improvement; assist in responding to Requests for Qualifications (RFQ’s), Requests for Proposals (RFP’s) and design competitions; translate clients’ functional and spatial requirement into feasible design solutions, develop space planning concepts and generate program documents; produce initial design concepts and interpret design intent into design presentations to clearly communicate architectural design concepts; originate creative design concepts and develop solutions to design problems; develop design documents for all design phases, schematic design through construction documents including documenting architectural floor plans, elevations, sections, and details using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD, as well as other related BIM, 2D and 3D Modeling software; research domestic and international building codes and regulations, collect data, and write reports and presentations to incorporate research and data into architectural designs; collaborate on concept alternatives, studies and development requiring 3D digital massing, floor plans, space plans, building elevations, sections and perspectives; participate in meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, and public agencies on a given project and coordinate for client and agency review and approval; coordinate and gather data on provided site survey of existing conditions and take as built measurements; produce site analysis studies with site photography, code research, base drawings, and diagrams; prepare client and public presentations, workshops and meetings; Produce design documentations and renderings utilizing Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Sketchup, Rhino, 3D Studio Max, VRay, Lumion, Enscape, PhotoShop, Illustrator, and InDesign; assist in reviewing accuracy of documents and resolving complex technical and design issues; conduct material and product research for both exteriors and interiors; participate in research and selection of building materials and FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment) components required for construction and work with consultants, vendors, product reps, and fabricators to meet overall project objectives; BIM organization for all documents; incorporating custom detailing, structural engineering principles and building systems into architectural designs; analyze sketches, photographs, notes, and other input material to determine best approaches for completion of drawings to solve technical issues of design in relation to sites, buildings, interior spaces and client needs; coordinate with civil, landscape, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection (MEP/FP), lighting, code, telecom, traffic, parking, zoning, signage, acoustic, security, curtain wall, façade maintenance, special systems, geotechnical, vertical transportation, door hardware consultants to incorporate engineering systems into unified design and produce construction documentation and secure client and regulatory approval; design exterior envelope and produce documentation such as enlarged plans, elevations, sections, details to communicate design intent; provide material and product research and analysis appropriate for projects requirements and client’s satisfaction; coordinate with contractor and owner to make sure the overall design intent is achieved throughout the construction process; perform necessary modifications of drawings and specifications as construction projects progress and changes in dimensions, materials, and other aspects of design arise from client, agency or public input; organize, file and distribute documents utilizing Procore, Newforma software, BIM360 and other construction coordination software; fulfill general contractor’s requests for information (RFI’s), submittals, and change order requests; execute site visits, field observation and meetings to review the progress of construction; apply architectural principles to review all related shop drawings, samples, mockups, and cut sheets on materials & equipment; assist in incorporating LEED sustainable design principles and preparing LEED documentation; assist in evaluation of general contractor bids and project budgets and coordinate construction budgets with clients and contractors; assist project manager or architect in project closeout, including final inspections, preparation of punch list, certificates of substantial completion; record drawings, and post occupancy review.
Job Requirements:
