Job Captain – Interiors

We are currently experiencing exciting growth and seek an interiors job captain to play a pivotal role in our San Francisco studio.

Essential Function:

RMW is seeking a job captain with excellent interpersonal skills to be a team player in a fast-paced environment in our interior design team.  Candidate will be responsible for the preparation of space plans, pricing plans and construction documents under the guidance of a Project Manager, assistance with code review and city requirements, coordinate and lead construction administration phase, review, and process shop drawings and submittals and act as “continuity” for project-related technical information on multiple projects with limited timelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of design development and construction documents under the guidance of a Project Manager.
  • Assist in the investigation and design of projects.
  • Prepare cartoon working drawing set during Schematic Design phase in coordination with the project plan.
  • Coordinate with Project Manager / Project Architect and disseminating to the project team the project schedule and budget.

Education / Certification / Experience Requirement:

  • 5+ years of experience in corporate interior design or tenant development projects.
  • Professional degree in interiors, architecture or recognized equivalent.
  • NCIDQ certification/Certified Interior Designer preferred; LEED Accredited Professional a plus.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Sketch-up, Adobe Illustrator & InDesign.
  • Experience coordinating project resources, including project consultants.
  • Experience in the production of working drawings/architectural design.
  • Experience in design development and detailing of all aspects, on a wide variety of project types.
  • Substantial knowledge of construction documents.
  • Ability to coordinate and set up project schedules, file systems, and budgets.
  • Experience in understanding of major consultants’ work, and ability to interpret their plans and specifications.
  • Thorough knowledge of building codes and permit approvals processes.
  • Space planning ability a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and to work within a team structure.
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Positive attitude with a strong aptitude for learning.
