We are currently experiencing exciting growth and seek an Architectural Designer 1 to play a pivotal role in our San Francisco studio.
Essential Function:
Develop planning and creative-design concepts for projects, and assist with architecture, specifically in planning and design. The junior architectural designer will work under the direction of a senior project team member.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare architectural concept plans and renderings.
- Assist in the development of client’s programs.
- Assist in the development of design alternatives to meet the client’s programmatic requirements.
- Assure compliance with building codes, and assure technical suitability.
- Perform design computations.
- Assist in the preparation of design and construction documents, correcting and updating drawings.
- Develop presentation techniques that communicate the design concept(s) to the client.
- Assist in preparing, reviewing, and evaluating cost estimates during schematic and design development phases.
- Assist in maintaining the RMW database.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education / Certification / Experience Requirement:
- Professional degree or recognized equivalent with up to 5 years of experience.
- Knowledge of Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
- General knowledge of design development and presentation documents and procedures for production of construction documents.
- Working knowledge of construction techniques and related engineering principles.
- Highly creative skills with the ability to execute high levels of design.
- Problem solving skills with a strong sense of design, color and materials.
- Technically aptitude.
- Strong follow-through and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and to work within a team structure.
- Highly effective interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Positive attitude with a strong aptitude for learning.
