Russell Meeks
AIA, NCARB, LEED AP
Director of Healthcare
Russell approaches architecture as a sculptural experience, something to be moved through and around, shaped by light, material, and the rhythms of daily life. With more than four decades of practice, his work reflects a deep understanding of how buildings can both respond to and reveal the character of their environment.
Guided by the principles of climate, site, and function, Russell designs spaces that act as a kind of living membrane by balancing light, air, energy, and human activity in harmony with nature. His experience spans university buildings, hospitals, research facilities, offices, homes, and museums, each shaped by his belief that good design is both beautiful and useful, thought-provoking and grounded.
Russell draws inspiration from art, nature, and the craft of making. Whether sketching, building models, or fabricating something in his workshop, he sees design as an act of curiosity and precision. His goal, always, is simple: to make people happy through great spaces.
Russell is valued not only for his design expertise and construction knowledge, but also for his collaborative spirit and thoughtful leadership.
