435 Indio Way is featured in Architectural Record‘s March 2015 issue, which is themed around “innovations in glass.” The article, entitled “Dynamic Glass,” discusses the strategies that led to 435 Indio Way’s Zero Net Energy design, including a highly insulated envelope that “operates in tandem with rooftop photovoltaics, precisely configured motorized skylights that diffuse daylight for maximum spread, and a pattern of EC fenestration from View Dynamic Glass.” The temperature control enabled by the use of dynamic glass allowed for a smaller HVAC system than a building the size of 435 Indio would typically require.
