We are currently experiencing exciting growth and seek an Architectural Designer to work on a variety of commercial office and industrial projects in our Sacramento studio.
Defines and plans architectural designs to meet project requirements. Contributes to and assists with the development of architectural site and building designs.
Coordinates with Project Manager on program, budget, and schedule for timely and appropriate design development.
Develops planning and creative design concepts of a project.
Responsible for preparing presentation, design drawings and preparation of design details.
Works independently on design projects and often coordinating drafting efforts on projects.
Independently evaluates, selects and applies standard architectural techniques, procedures and criteria using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.
Supervises and/or prepares architectural plans and renderings.
Consults manufactures, evaluates and selects materials and finish.
Performs architectural assignments under direction but not immediate supervision.
Coordinates consultants’ work during design phases.
Develops design alternatives to meet the client’s programmatic requirements, ensures compliance with building codes and technical suitability.
Responsible for finish plans and specifications or approval of materials and construction.
Develops solutions, which integrate building systems, structure, etc.
Develops presentation techniques that communicate the design concept(s) to the client.
Assists in the construction administration phase by reviewing construction for general conformance with the design concept.
Assists in preparing, reviews, and evaluates cost estimates during Schematic and Design Development phases.
Professional degree or recognized equivalent with 4 -8 years of experience.
Experience in commercial architecture with specific experience in planning and design.
Highly creative with the ability to execute high level of design.
Proficiency in AutoCAD. Experience in SketchUp is desired.
Problem solver with a strong sense of design, building systems, and materials.
Strong follow-through and attention to detail.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and to work within a team structure.
Highly effective interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.
Positive attitude with strong aptitude for learning.
