Anna Higgins

The daughter of a contractor, Anna grew up in houses that she helped her father design and build. This gave her an early appreciation for how architecture impacts its inhabitants and opened her eyes to the many possibilities for what a space can be. She believes that great design not only meets programmatic requirements, but also functions well, complements its surroundings, and appeals to its users. Her goal for every client is to understand their needs while considering context, history, and sustainability.

Anna’s proclivities for music, mathematics, art, and problem-solving dispel the myth of right- or left-brained dominance. Anna engages both sides of her brain, as well as her heart, when designing, believing that empathy is a crucial ingredient for a project’s success. She loves how architecture blends creative design, technical problem-solving, and interdisciplinary collaboration. As a teammate, Anna brings positivity, encouragement, trust, and reliability to each project.

Outside of work, Anna enjoys spending time with family and friends, whether playing board games, watercolor painting, or hiking outdoors.
