The Kaiser Outpatient Pharmacy at 2238 Geary began with a clear client vision: to modernize and optimize the pharmacy experience for both patients and staff. The client sought an efficient, welcoming environment that streamlined point-of-sale interactions and fostered accessibility within a bustling medical office building. Our team delivered this request through a collaborative approach, leveraging digital floor plans, AR/VR presentations, and benchmark analyses to inform the design process. Challenges included upgrading existing infrastructure without disrupting pharmacy operations and ensuring ADA compliance. We resolved these by implementing phased construction and integrating intuitive design elements such as improved signage, accessible counters, and ergonomic layouts. The result is a vibrant, user-centric space that enhances workflow, elevates patient experience, and stands as a model for outpatient pharmacy design.
