This high-bay, 107,000-square-foot warehouse is located on a 6.25-acre high visibility site near Napa County’s Sheriff’s Department and Fire Department buildings on one of Napa’s main arteries. To meet our client’s tight schedule, a higher level of design was required to facilitate a quick approval. Maximizing the floor plate efficiency was also a priority as the building is used to store the personal effects of deployed military personnel.

Typical warehouse entries are recessed into the building to create visual interest, but recessed entries reduce valuable floor area. RMW developed design elements which maximize interior space and at the same time create a visually interesting exterior facade. Freestanding tilted concrete wing walls which simulate cast-in-place panels and foam banding create the illusion of layers and give the building a more human scale.
