Project
UC Davis Medical Center, East Wing Tower 7th Floor Reactivation
Sacramento, CA

The New Neurological Nursing Unit at UC Davis Health transforms the existing seventh floor of the East Wing Tower into a modern, patient-centered neurological care unit, restoring 20 inpatient beds while expanding the hospital’s capacity to deliver specialized neurological services. The approximately 8,030-square-foot renovation includes two neurological care suites and a dedicated 1,950-square-foot EEG department that provides offices, clinical workspaces, and the infrastructure needed to support the growing neurology program.
The neurological care suites are equipped with advanced monitoring technology, including integrated Natus Medical Incorporated epilepsy recording systems that enable continuous EEG monitoring. The project encompasses a comprehensive renovation of the existing space, including new casework, upgraded mechanical, plumbing, and medical gas systems, as well as the integration of medical equipment, office furnishings, and technology infrastructure. Improvements also include data cabling, wireless access points, nurse call systems, fire alarm upgrades, and new and relocated electrical receptacles.
