RMW Sacramento Debuts VR at ACRE/NAIOP Developer Showcase

Last evening, the RMW Sacramento team debuted our virtual reality experience at the ACRE/NAIOP Developer Showcase. Using the Merge VR Headset, participants saw 3D panoramic views of the RMW designed Sacramento King’s Corporate Headquarters, Prologis Oakland Army Base Redevelopment, Iceblock 1 and the recently completed Cushman and Wakefield office. The panoramic views were generated from SketchUp using the “shaded image” approach along with other panoramic images.

Wired.com describes VR in architecture as “potentially revolutionary.” ”VR’s ability to draw designers and their clients into a visceral world of dimension, scale, and feeling, removing the unfortunate schism between a built environment that exists in three dimensions and a visualization of it that has until now existed in two.”
