Where did you go to school?

Cal Polytechnic San Luis Obispo

Anything in particular you remember about school or early practice?

Architecture design labs were not that hard and did not require “all-nighters” as everyone threatened; it all had to do with time management. I also loved being president of the Anime Club at Cal Poly. It was wonderful getting together with friends every Saturday night and watching hours of Japanese animation.

What do you do at RMW?

I’m a Senior Project Architect.

What do you like about the firm?

I like the opportunity to work with many evolving project teams for interiors and architecture. There always seems to be variety in the work performed.

Why did you decide to go into architecture/interior design?

I was great at drawing as a child, and my father was the head of architecture for Southern Pacific Railroad.

What do you do outside the firm?

I like woodworking, watching DVD movies, and playing with my two boys (model rockets, Legos, video games, making paper airplanes, and building a playhouse together).

What is your favorite building or space and why?

The Gamble House by Greene & Greene; I love the Arts and Crafts movement, where wood detailing was taken to the extreme.
