Where did you go to school?
UC Berkeley (CAL baby!!!).  B.A. in Architecture (1996)

What do you do at RMW?
I am a Project Architect by title; however, what I do is mentor, build teams and foster relationships. I love what I do and enjoy sharing it with others.  A spark occurs when individuals with a passion for what they do get together. The result is always a better design, a fun time, and a great project. And this guy wants to have fun.

What do you like about the firm?
The culture of this organization magnetic. RMW is a no-ego place; the same opportunities exist for everyone regardless of role or tenure. I love that.

What do you do outside the firm?
I love music but am not musical, so for now, I’m a professional groupie. My wife (the musician in the family), our kids, and I attend lots of concerts when we’re not on or in the water. Shorts, sandals, and a t-shirt are preferred attire.  Currently, my kids are 4 and 6, so a lot of our time is devoted to their activities; the Zoo, Funderland, the train museum, drawing, building, hiking, biking, playing ball, running, jumping, swimming, and fighting off the various viruses they bring home from school.

What is your favorite building or space?
The silver temple in Kyoto.  There’s an energy there that is simply indescribable, and the craftsmanship is unparalleled.  The wood columns are almost smooth enough to wear.
