Diablo Orthodontics’ new Brentwood location transforms a former Taekwondo studio into a highly functional, welcoming orthodontic environment designed for both staff precision and patient comfort. The client’s request was clear: replicate the workflow he loved in his existing practice while elevating the experience for a growing, youth-centered patient base.

RMW led extensive coordination to integrate specialized orthodontic equipment, embed utilities, and design a fully internal lab. Through careful study of legacy equipment, multiple site walks, and close collaboration with the contractor and MEP team, complex systems were seamlessly recessed into a slab-on-grade building, dramatically improving circulation, cleanliness, and usability.

Careful attention was given to the millwork design, to conceal medical equipment, IT infrastructure, and lab processes while keeping work surfaces clear and intuitive for staff. Floating monitors, integrated storage, hidden AV systems, and purpose-built cabinetry ensure every tool has a place—out of sight, but always within reach.

Public areas balance a clean, modern aesthetic with moments of warmth and fun, including a hospitality zone, educational stations, and playful color accents that resonate with younger patients. The result is an environment that feels calm, confident, and thoughtfully tailored to support operational excellence while creating a memorable, reassuring experience for patients and families alike.
