RMW Announces Associate Principals

As we celebrate RMW’s 49th year, I am honored and delighted to announce a new level of leadership within the firm. This new role will more closely align the mentorship and innovative thinking of our Associates, with the overall business strategy and design direction of our Principals. These new leaders, our Associate Principals, will anchor RMW’s succession plan and further define our future.

This new chapter in the firm’s evolution begins as we embark on our 50th-anniversary brand refresh, the preparation for which has compelled us to identify and examine key differentiators that have sustained our successes. The greatest of these has been our people. Talented, passionate, authentic people comprise the DNA of RMW. Our Associate Principals Hakee Chang, Stephanie Silkwood, Stephanie Sims, and Steve Stenton exemplify these tenets. They collectively represent over 40 years of service to RMW clients, and each possesses a deep commitment to design. Hakee, Stephanie, Stephanie, and Steve, congratulations!

The most recent addition to the firm, Hakee Chang joined RMW in 2018, bringing his award-winning portfolio of design to his role as San Francisco Studio Director of Interior Design. A certified interior designer and LEED AP, he has consistently dedicated himself to designing work environments that promote sustainability, innovation, and delight.

San Jose studio’s Stephanie Silkwood joined RMW in 2008 and was named an Associate in 2012. Stephanie combines a deep interest in design with a remarkable ability to advocate for the client through rigorous project management. She has been recognized repeatedly by the national and regional AIA for her leadership excellence.

Stephanie Sims joined us in 2011. A Project Manager in our San Francisco studio, Stephanie has over 14 years of experience in architecture and interiors managing and coordinating projects from programming through construction administration. She has led RMW’s Tenant Improvement group in a variety of project types including commercial, high-rise condominiums and industrial.

Our San Jose studio’s Director of Sustainability since 2009, Steve Stenton joined RMW in 1996, was named an Associate in 1999. He has over 27 years of experience in all phases of architectural and interior projects from design development and production through construction administration. He is a registered architect in the State of California, a LEED and WELL accredited professional, a member of the AIA and the U.S. Green Building Council.

It is with tremendous joy and confidence that I congratulate and welcome Hakee, Stephanie, Stephanie, and Steve to the leadership team. We anticipate the influence of your voice on the future of RMW architecture & interiors.
