Project
Confidential Financial Services
Fresno, CA

This new Fresno office reimagines what a workplace can be for a team deeply connected to California’s agricultural heartland. Located on the top floor of a uniquely zigzag-shaped building, the space presented both design opportunities and challenges. The client asked RMW to transform a dated environment into a bright, functional office that would reflect the character of its users while supporting collaboration and focus. Programming began with an internal space plan, which RMW reshaped to maximize efficiency, daylight, and flow. Private offices were moved to the building’s core, opening perimeter windows to shared spaces and workstations. This strategy embraced the building’s quirks—narrow pinch points and inset patios—turning them into pathways, connection zones, and outdoor retreats.
The design draws inspiration from Fresno’s surrounding rivers, farmland, and mountain landscapes. Earthy finishes, curved soffits, and flowing ceiling elements soften the rigid geometry of the building. Natural tones of oak, walnut, rust, and deep green create a grounded, welcoming palette. Together, these choices elevate the employee experience—providing spaces for quiet work, team connection, and occasional client visits—while celebrating our client’s agricultural business unit with a workplace that feels both timeless and distinctly local.
