What do you do at RMW?

I’m a Senior Interior Designer…and then some! I help in all aspects of the design process from schematic design to construction administration. I like to think of myself as a team player because I am willing to take on any task and believe my best work is when the group does its best. I’ve dabbled in architectural and site design too.

Why did you decide to go into interior design?

It was the closest degree to a “professional rearranger” that was offered at my university. As a teenager, I would often rearrange my room or relocate items in my home to see how I could improve my environment. My behavior drove my parents crazy but it was the foundation for my appreciation for design and aesthetics. I also was very hands-on and could create something out of nothing. When I was 13, I created a floating shelf to house 150 music CDs using a few scraps of wood and craft paint. So, when the time came to select a profession, interior design was the obvious choice. Interior design combines my love for design, aesthetics, and problem solving!

Where did you go to school?

San Jose State University. GO SPARTANS!

What do you like about the firm?

The people. The talent we have at RMW is remarkable. I’ve grown so much since joining the team here and have learned to give back what I can. Plus, the dynamics of our work culture provides me the ability to laugh every day at work. Time flies when you are having fun!

What is your favorite building or space?

My favorite space is underneath an umbrella, on a sandy beach, feeling waves crashing at my feet and smelling the sweet ocean breeze. This is where I come to relax and be inspired. I always feel grateful when I stand beside the ocean.
