As ProteinSimple evolved within the Bio-Techne family of companies, its workplace needed to reflect a new identity while supporting employees returning to the office after significant shifts in how they worked. What began as a modest refresh of select spaces grew into a comprehensive transformation that touched nearly every part of the 97,957 sf facility, including collaborative spaces, executive areas, the lobby, outdoor environments, engineering workspaces, and select laboratory environments.

RMW approached the project as a strategic refresh, identifying opportunities to introduce the new Bio Techne brand language throughout the workplace while working within existing conditions. A key design theme emerged from the company’s visual identity, including the distinctive dash within the Bio Techne name, which inspired architectural and graphic gestures throughout the project.

The redesigned lobby establishes a strong first impression through a brighter, more contemporary experience that balances warm materials with refined, technology inspired elements. Social spaces, including the main café and all hands area, were reshaped to encourage connection, collaboration, and hospitality inspired gathering. Executive meeting environments were refreshed to better support visiting guests and leadership functions, while outdoor spaces were transformed into more inviting destinations for employee events and everyday use.
