Once a building for automotive repairs, the three-level project in the heart of San Francisco has transformed from serving combustible engine vehicles to an innovative EV charging hub for today’s electric vehicles. It seamlessly blends modern functionality with its historic charm, preserving the original architectural details while incorporating cutting-edge technology intended for autonomous EV fleet.

The challenge to convert the former auto shop into a state-of-theart EV charging facility required careful analysis of the building’s structural integrity, as well as compliance with San Francisco’s accessible building entrance and conservation district requirements. In addition to supporting the demands of the required EV infrastructure, both the weight and parking needs of the modern electric vehicles were carefully accounted for, including anticipating future high-performance models.
