Located in an urban setting over approximately 67 acres in Sunnyvale, CA. RMW developed a site program, vision, and master plan to help Applied Materials envision its next generation of innovation and growth. We coordinated technical and engineering design services to assess and plan phased development for the campus over the next decade and beyond. Program components for the project include a new research and development (R&D) building, multiple light laboratory and office buildings, a central utility plant, parking, and useable outdoor areas.

The master plan design allows incremental growth and development to accommodate flexibility and evolving programmatic requirements. The driver for the master plan is the R&D building anticipated to expand the client’s material science capabilities with a ballroom-style cleanroom supported by robust infrastructure systems. Amenities, administrative and supplemental research space are provided in future phases.
